Invocation es una investigación performativa cuyo eje de estudio son los cuerpos de la danza posmoderna: Steve Patxon, Yvonne Rainer y Trisha Brown, y toda la constelación histórica que suponen sus figuras.
A través de ellas, Invocation propone, desde el flamenco, un recorrido basado en una exploración física y mística, a modo de una danza de la invocación, que desemboca en el cuerpo presente intuitivo y espontáneo, en el que las fronteras entre danza posmoderna y flamenco quedan difuminadas.
Un dispositivo escénico a modo de experiencia, en el que a través del espacio sonoro, ofrece un paisaje poético en el que confluye la danza posmoderna y el flamenco, y que abre el misterio de un ritual, con nuevos vínculos y relaciones para una danza del futuro.
Carmen Muñoz (Granada, 1988). Bailarina, coreógrafa, docente e investigadora graduada por el Conservatorio Superior de Danza del Institut del Teatre Barcelona. Desarrolla su carrera profesional como intérprete en compañías como Marco Vargas & Chloé Brûlé, José Manuel Álvarez, La Fura dels Baus, Juan Carlos Lérida. Desde 2017, movida por una inquietud propia, despliega su trayectoria como creadora con piezas como Catalina Mía, Bailes de Histéricas, e Invocation. Comprometida con la investigación de la danza, forma parte del encuentro Estancias Coreográficas en Oviedo, Colectivo Les Empírcxs y Laboratorio de investigación desde el flamenco IT en Barcelona. Ha obtenido Primer Premio de Coreografía y Premio a una bailarina sobresaliente por Catalina Mía en diferentes certámenes coreográficos de Madrid 2017-2018. En 2021 Carmen Muñoz recibe el premio a la mejor intérprete por Estudio sobre la histeria en el Festival 15m2, y en 2022 Premio a la mejor intérprete Premios PAD Andalucía por su participación en la pieza Origen. Actualmente es docente en Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Institut del Teatre, e imparte talleres de creación por diferentes ciudades de España.

Invocation is a performative research project centered on the bodies of postmodern dance: Steve Paxton, Yvonne Rainer, and Trisha Brown, along with the historical constellation their figures represent. Through them, Invocation proposes, from within flamenco, a journey based on a physical and mystical exploration—like a dance of invocation—that culminates in the intuitive and spontaneous present body, where the boundaries between postmodern dance and flamenco become blurred. It is a stage device conceived as an experience, in which, through the soundscape, a poetic landscape emerges where postmodern dance and flamenco converge, opening up the mystery of a ritual that forges new bonds and relationships for a dance of the future.
Carmen Muñoz (Granada, 1988) is a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and researcher, graduated from the Conservatori Superior de Dansa of the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. She has developed her professional career as a performer in companies such as Marco Vargas & Chloé Brûlé, José Manuel Álvarez, La Fura dels Baus, and Juan Carlos Lérida. Since 2017, driven by her own creative curiosity, she has been forging her path as a choreographer with pieces such as Catalina Mía, Bailes de Histéricas, and Invocation. Committed to dance research, she is part of the Estancias Coreográficas meeting in Oviedo, the collective Les Empírcxs, and the flamenco research laboratory IT in Barcelona. She received the First Choreography Prize and the Outstanding Dancer Award for Catalina Mía in various choreography competitions in Madrid (2017–2018). In 2021, she won the Best Performer Award for Estudio sobre la histeria at the 15m2 Festival, and in 2022 she received the Best Performer Award at the PAD Awards in Andalusia for her performance in the piece Origen. She currently teaches at the Conservatori Superior de Dansa of the Institut del Teatre and offers creative workshops in various cities across Spain.
